Solin

In Solin you can find the most significant archeological treasures from Roman times, out of the Italy. The history of the town is as far as 2nd century BC. In the times of biggest importance of the town there used to be 60000 inhabitants. Archeological research is going on for many years, with few obstacles as financial problems and old buildings structure. You can find here treasures as sarcophagus, monumental roman amphitheater, or ruins of temple and basilica. In case of very hot day, do not forget to bring enough fluids, fast foods and refreshment stands are only at the entrance to archeological area. Solin is at this time an industrial suburb of Split. It is located 80km from Podgora.
